Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain founded the house of Guerlain and began its perfumery dynasty. In 1828 he opened his first Paris boutique and workshop, making bespoke scents and products for a wealthy clientele. In 1853 he presented Eau de Cologne Impériale to Empress Eugénie and was named official perfumer to the court of Napoleon III. His sons and later Guerlain generations carried on the house.
