J.K. (Joseph) DeLapp is an American niche perfumer who founded The Rising Phoenix Perfumery in Denver (with his brother Kyle). He came to perfumery via cooking and traditional Chinese medicine, which he studied formally. He works largely with natural materials and long maceration, specialising in 'fusion' perfumery — blending Western, Arabic and historical traditions — and in attars.
