    Henri Robert was a French perfumer who, in the 1950s, succeeded Ernest Beaux as Chanel's in-house perfumer and held the role until Jacques Polge. His work includes Pour Monsieur (1955), the fresh chypre Cristalle and Chanel No.19 (1971), said to have been created for Coco Chanel's own birthday. He also tended the house's classics, including No.5.
