Edmond Roudnitska

Edmond Roudnitska was one of the greatest perfumers of the 20th century and a theorist of the art. In 1946, with his wife Thérèse, he founded the Art et Parfum studio in Grasse. He created landmark scents: Rochas Femme (1944), Dior's Eau Sauvage and Diorissimo, and Eau d'Hermès. He campaigned for perfumery to be recognised as an art and for perfumers' intellectual property.
